About the Network
Overview
The OD Partnerships Network was established in 1997 and is a learning and cooperative support network of approximately 50 health care CEOs in the U.K., Germany, Spain, the United States and Australia. Through mutual partnerships, it engages with and stimulates the individuals and organisations that belong to it so that they are progressively better able to learn together, support one another and deliver needed change. In the U.K., the Network aims to recruit members who are at the forefront of delivering on the NHS change agenda and who recognise that by reflecting alongside other CEOs who are also at the forefront, by working with people who are skilled at linking theory to practice and by developing improved theory and improved practices along the way, they will be better able to meet the challenges they face. Benefits of membership
There are many networks and development opportunities available to health care chief executives and their organisations, what is different about OD Partnerships Network?
Our members talk about the following:
Quality of relationships
Because network membership is restricted to a maximum of 40 and to people who are genuinely interested in organisational development, members develop robust relationships with each other and offer each other a high level of valuable support.
Genuine exchanges of learning and experience
The exchange of experience between members and the conceptual frameworks developed with core staff enable a richness of insight difficult to find elsewhere.
Safety
All meetings observe the Chatham House rule and members can share their emotional reactions to situations as well as their more measured responses.
International dimension
With members in the Australia, Germany, Spain, the UK, and USA, and an annual international seminar, members have opportunities to learn from the experiences of peers grappling with different policy contexts.
Learning across the whole system
In all of the countries represented members come from organisations across the whole system. This gives insights that increase effectiveness, and also allows the Network to exercise some influence with policy makers.
Anticipating and Influencing
Between them, members and core staff have privileged access to a range of experts and influencers. This means they often get a different 'take' on ideas and issues, and can decode policy and understand its drivers. Furthermore they make these contacts available to other members.
Organisational development
All members have a genuine interest in organisational development as a means of ensuring effective efficient health care. This shared focus enables a rich discussion of concepts and approaches and support, both from core staff and from other members, in most aspects of improvement and development.
Responsiveness
As the network is governed by its members with a small high calibre core staff its offerings and agenda respond to members needs.
Calibre
Members and core staff are invited to join only if they demonstrate a genuine interest and capability in organisational development.
Support
Members find that they can call core staff and other members and have their call taken at any time.
Programme of activities
All members are entitled to attend a number of learning events, please see Network Events click for details of these.
Menu of further support
A range of further organisational development opportunities is available, please see Further Support click for details of these.
